Where most studios commission a general contractor and a roster of subcontractors, Fine Mondo operates an in-house atelier of forty-seven master craftsmen — marble artisans, bronze casters, bespoke joiners, gilders, upholsterers, and metalworkers — across four cities. Every surface of every commission is fabricated by a named pair of hands under the studio's direct supervision. This is the proof of our standard, in lieu of a portfolio we are not permitted to publish.

Eight disciplines, eight principals, one workshop floor.
The atelier is organised as eight distinct trades, each led by a named principal with a minimum tenure of nine years at the studio. A project never crosses a trade boundary without a documented handoff, and the founding partners personally review the bench of every principal each quarter.

Marble & Stone Carving
Eleven artisans, led by a third-generation Pietrasanta carver. Block selection, CNC roughing, and final hand-finishing all occur under one roof in the Milan atelier, drawing on the studio's proprietary library of 6,400 vetted stones.

Bronze Casting & Metalwork
Six casters and finishers operating the lost-wax foundry in the London atelier. Hardware, lighting arms, fireplace tools, and architectural ironmongery are poured, chased, and patinated on-site, eliminating the four-month subcontractor lag typical of the trade.

Bespoke Joinery
Twelve joiners across Milan and Dubai producing cabinetry, panelling, doors, and architectural millwork in walnut, oak, fumed eucalyptus, and lacquered finishes. Every drawing is issued from the in-house CAD bench; no external joiner reads a Fine Mondo detail without partner countersign.

Gilding & Specialist Finishes
Four gilders trained in traditional water-gilding and oil-gilding, handling bolection mouldings, cornices, and period-correct restoration work — including the 17th-century Tuscan estate returned to its founding client in 2022, the studio's fifth project for that family.
The remaining four trades — upholstery, soft furnishings, decorative metalwork, and surface finishing — are documented in the studio's private brief and presented in person at the consultation.

Chapter III | Trade I in detail
The marble atelier.
Eleven artisans, one Pietrasanta-trained principal, and a block yard that does not release a slab without three signed approvals. The marble atelier is the studio's signature trade and the one most often cited by returning clients as the reason they commission Fine Mondo over a competitor.

On a fourteen-month residence build the marble atelier typically runs for the full duration — from the first block selection in month two to the final book-matched bathroom surround in month thirteen. In-house control of stone means the principal can halt a fabrication and re-cut within forty-eight hours; the same correction through an external yard costs, on average across our files, eleven weeks of programme.
Clients visiting the atelier during construction see the slab they have chosen at three stages: rough, semi-finished, and polished — and sign each transition in person. This protocol is recorded in every project file and is a condition of the studio's discretion clause with family offices and royal households alike.

Chapter V — A note from the founding partners

Our atelier is the studio's quiet answer — a workshop where the founding partners still know the bench of every principal and the apprentice sitting beside them. It is slower. It is more expensive. It is the only way we know to build a residence we are willing to put our name to.”
Chapter VI — Begin a commission
Meet the craftsmen in person.
A private consultation is the only sanctioned entry point to commissioning Fine Mondo. You will meet the founding partners, walk the relevant atelier floor with the principal of your trade, and review materials from the proprietary library in the studio's discretion. Following the consultation, a written proposal is issued for your consideration.
